The stormwater filtration devices installed at Alexandra Canal Council Depot consist of fifteen upstream EnviroPod pit baskets and four separate precast StormFilter manhole systems which comprise a total of fifteen media cartridges. The water quality objectives achieved on this site are 80% TSS, 55% TP and 40% TN. From a design / modelling perspective, the main objective was to limit the number of cartridges required to achieve the targets considering that the majority of the site is roofed area with either no pre-treatment at all or low Rainwater tank / reuse usage. This industrial site is approximately 19,665m2 therefore high levels of pollutant concentrations are expected to be generated across this development.
The StormFilter system is designed to achieve an annual maintenance frequency with EnviroPods to be serviced every 3-6 months.
