Bornhorst & Ward Consulting Engineers worked with the Queensland Department of Education in designing the redevelopment of West End State School. As part of this process a stormwater treatment system to meet the pollutant reduction targets was required. There were a number of hydraulic constraints on the project and due to a low outlet connection our low drop (310mm) StormFilter cartridges were specified with EnviroPod pre-treatment. A complete pre-cast solution was supplied for the project with the StormFilter unit being positioned in an offline arrangement to mitigate the impact on the system during peak rainfall events.
The StormFilter system is designed to achieve annual maintenance cycles. EnviroPods to be serviced every 3-6 months. Periodic inspections will take place and cleans after major storm events.
